Snowshoeing through history

We invite you to join us on a snowshoeing journey through the history of the northernmost fjords of Iceland, while listening to stories about the often harsh living conditions that ruled survival and events that shaped the history of the region in the 20th century.

Walk with us on a two hour tour in the northernmost settlements of Troll peninsula.  While Siglufjörður became the happening town of Iceland at the start of the 20th century, the farmers in its neighboring Héðinsfjörður continued its rural agricultural existence. In both regions, winters could be unforgiving, and the history of region is a fascinating reminder of the stubbornness and perseverance that characterized Iceland for centuries. We will snowshoe through areas of beauty and history, sharing stories of generations past.
